Getting an e-Book from iMac to iPad

How can I move a free e-Book, downloaded from a history magazine web-site, from my iMac, running El Capitan. to my iPad. iTunes won't see it, and trying the route of putting it on an SD card doesn't work either - the iPad doesn't see it. I want to take the book on holiday and would rather not have to pack the iMac todo so

Where does it appear on the iMac?

You could try putting it on iCloud Drive on the Mac then downloading it to the iPad using the Files app.

Email it to yourself then receive in the iPad Mail app and then use the Export function to place it into Books - well it works for me

I have used the same method as Derek, also if you sync the books with iCloud it should show up on your iPhone and iPad

Thanks for the suggestions. The answer was even simpler thanks to Drew - all I had to do was to download the e-book directly with the iPad!!

Hands up all those who assumed Michael had thought of that but for some reason it wasn't available any more 😉
