      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">How can I move a free e-Book, downloaded from a history magazine web-site, from my iMac, running El Capitan. to my iPad. iTunes won't see it, and trying the route of putting it on an SD card doesn't work either - the iPad doesn't see it.  I want to take the book on holiday and would rather not have to pack the iMac todo so</xhtml:div>

You could try putting it on iCloud Drive on the Mac then downloading it to the iPad using the Files app.</xhtml:div>

      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Email it to yourself then receive in the iPad Mail app and then use the Export function to place it into Books - well it works for me</xhtml:div>

      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Thanks for the suggestions.  The answer was even simpler thanks to Drew - all I had to do was to download the e-book directly with the iPad!!</xhtml:div>
