Spurious album covers on iPhone

Avatar Richard I
Here’s a puzzle for you:
I recently ripped some cassettes to the Mac. On the music app on the Mac the albums don’t have Album artwork attached yet.
However when synchronising with the iPhone, the phone appears to have decided to allocate an unrelated album artwork to each of them-so now when I look at albums on the phone I see the same irrelevant album artwork again and again!

can anybody suggest why this has happened and how to fix it?
Thanks!

Sorry for a late reply, I was abroad.
I can't explain why but a fix would be to add/substitute artwork on the Mac. I think it will sync. to the phone

Find a suitable cover photo on the internet and save it to a file on the Mac. (I have a folder called Album Covers inside Music.)
Select all the songs in the Album and press Command I to bring up the Information window. Select Artwork and the Add Artwork. Select the file.
I hope this works for you.

Incidentally if you miss a track then the Mac may split the songs into two different
Albums. It certainly does if the information in the Details tab, apart from song title, are not identical across tracks

Thanks for the suggestion Rick. Unfortunately it’s a sheer number of instances where the wrong album cover has been used on the phone (Western dream by Bob Sinclair as it happens!). The Music app on the Mac has the artwork only once- on the correct album.
I have re-synchronised the Phone with the Mac but to no avail, I guess I’ll have to put up with it, as it’s not really feasible to change them one by one
