Software for scanning old photo negatives

Avatar Richard I
I have heaps of strips of negatives which I would like to digitise. Ideally, I would like to be able to place the strips on a scanner and press one button on the Mac resulting in the software scanning in the negatives, separating them out into individual photos and colour correcting them.

Can anyone suggest any suitable software?
Thanks!

Richard, at the risk of asking the obvious, have you got the scanner? Most if not all scanners with negative scanning capability come with software for that very purpose. I have an Epson Perfection V500 Photo. I did try out the negative scanning once (this would have been 2006-07!), it worked very well. Though the original software is long obsolete, it works perfectly with Image Capture, modern EpsonScan, and third party options like VueScan. At least one of those, if not all of them, should cover most of your scanning needs. Colour correction will probably best done in your image editor, though scanner software will certainly give you options for adjusting levels etc.

Thanks. I have a canon mg3600 3 in 1 printer. I don’t remember getting any software with it. I will have to look at some of your software suggestions.
