yahoo email 'update'

Avatar Eric Jervis
I've had an email this morning supposedly from yahoo, address <[undisclosed email]>
threatening the following;
Dear Yahoo Member,

We are closing all old versions of our Yahoo account as from October 26.
Follow the link below to update your account to the newest version.

Update Your Account
Failure to do this within 24 hours, your account will be deleted permanently

Sincerely,
Yahoo!
IS this genuine or spam?

I'm pretty sure it's spam/scam
The clues are:
ukxs.co.uk after the Yahoo part.
A short deadline.
A link to update your account - I know Yahoo are daft sometimes (in my experience)but they should ask you to log in to their web site without providing a link.

Log in directly and look for a general notification about this - I guess there won't be.
Don't click the link in the email
Richard

Thanks Richard, I'll give that a try; mind you, they've been trying to make me update to the latest version for a long time, but I'm a bit of a Luddite....

You were quite right, the clue is that there wasn't a Yahoo icon next to the subject or sender. spammed.....
