MacBook Air keyboard problem

Avatar Michael Corgan
My wife spilt some coffee on the touchpad of her MacBook Air. Now some, though not all of the keys on the right hand edge of the keyboard do not function. Is there a way for these to be easily resuscitated or will it require a Mac repairer to do so?

At least she doesn't take sugar!

There is not an easy way - which is what you asked - and the only risky but possible solution I've seen was to apply distilled water. But this was to a separate keyboard - I certainly would not risk it on a laptop unless you can remove the keyboard. If it were mine I'd bite the bullet and be taking it to Apple.

I am afraidthat taking the MacBook to Exeter, our nearest Apple Store, will have top wait a while. Meantime, happily,I have a spare Bluetooth keyboard and have that set up now, with a coffee mug repellant fence around it!
