Mailbox Manager will not close.

After running Mailbox Manager v2.2.7 and trying to quit it, I have an 'Activity' box open on the iMac desktop which I can't close. It says"Getting data from mail No.12". It has been running like that for hours. If I try to shut down the iMac, I get a message box saying, "Mailbox Manager" interrupted shut down. "To continue shutting down, quit Mailbox Manager." I am going round in circles! Help please.

I looked for that option by right clicking the icon but it wasn't shown. However I have now quit using the keyboard.

Use the Apple logo menu or the keyboard shortcut Option/Command/Escape

Thanks Mick. I eventually got to the keyboard shortcuts, with success!
