Using home wi-fi network on iPhone.

Avatar Roy Rainford
My iPhoneSE, iOS 12.01, when in-house, shows a signal for my Talkmobile network and another signal for my home TalkTalk network. How do I ensure that only my home network is used when in-house? Hoping this can be done without switching off and on to the mobile network when I go outside.

Mick is the "main man" on this but if the following helps:

When I was using Talktalk as a POP3 service I set up my phone this way to ensure outgoing calls used the wi-fi first.

Incoming server: mail.talktalk.net
Outgoing server:
Primary Server: smtp.o2.co.uk (Off)
Other SMTP Servers:
smtp.talktalk.net
smtp.o2.co.uk

If it is the same router I have from TalkTalk it will be a dual band router and there are two bands one is a fast one and one slow

In short, your phone will use wi-fi for data when it can, 4G or 3G via your mobile contract when it can't. It will always use your mobile contract for voice calls and texts unless your phone and your network support wi-fi dialling.
