Calendar Scam

Avatar Drew McFarlane
Hi all,

Just to ask if any members have been receiving "Calendar Scam" and if so what you have done to eliminate it.

I believe Apple have been working on this and are about to issue an update.

First I've heard of it (but I have been busy!) but easy to fix:

Open Safari and log in to iCloud.com where you open the Calendar app. In the bottom left corner, click the cog and choose Preferences. Click the Advanced icon and elect to have invitations sent by email rather than in app. When an unknown person sends an invitation, just delete the email - they will not be notified it's been received.

Hi Mick,

Having followed your instructions I have cleared these notifications from my calendar.

I'm surprised that I seem to be the only member in the group to have received them.

Once again thank you.

I doubt you're the only member of the group to have received them, just the only member of the group who reads the discussions to have received them ;-)

I have not received any as yet, but I have taken Mick Burrell's advice and altered the preferences

Thanks Mick, I haven't received a 'Calendar Scam' but I've set up the Preferences in the Calendar App as you suggested, just in case.
