Help needed to make a 'film'

I would like to make a film for a meeting at the Dorset County Museum.

It is to appear that I am slowly flying along the county boundary and looking down on it.

That part I can do with a QuickTime screen recording of Google Earth.

The part I need help with is to introduce still photographs and bits of text into the flight.
I don't want to simply interrupt the 'flight' with a photo or bit of text - rather I would like these stills to be pictures within the flight - like Superman flying in a helicopter but now and again zooming in on some detail!

I have tried searching for something suitable but I am not clear what exactly I need [charitably that's called the creative process] & needless to say I don't want to pay a fortune for any software or tax my brain learning some complex & sophisticated programme but rather hope that someone in our Group has a brilliant idea!

I have used Camtasia for recording screen presentations and I'm sure it could record your Google Earth part and insert still images but not sure of exactly how you want this to look so can't be precise as to whether it would do as you want.

I'd be happy to try something if it helps. Email or phone with instructions?
