The point of Tony’s presentation was to get us all producing attractive documents, be they Pages documents or Keynote slides. We first looked at a few of the templates that Apple provides - all very well designed and a good place to start. Tony then moved on to his self designed layout and took us through the reasoning behind the size and positioning of each element. He was working on principles that Robin Williams (no, not that one!) uses in her design book - primarily Contrast, Repetition, Alignment and Proximity. A brief look at how to deal with colour and then text followed with, having said rules are there to be broken, a few things to avoid unless you’re doing something “wrong” for effect.

We had some issues with sound and multiple Keynote windows which provided plenty of discussion after Tony had finished but then went on to problems with the Mail app.
