A smaller than usual attendance and a shorter than usual presentation – Michael showed the 11 people at the first AUGW meeting of 2018 different ways of getting help when confronted with a problem. Going online was a varied experience, depending on the manufacturer of the mis-behaving device or app – needless to say, Apple scored highly with an easily negotiable web site and a brilliant response – they call you! Printer manufacturers varied too,and there was a warning to avoid the payable services that popped up in the search results. OS X Daily was a recommended service though, and of course our own Discussions pages can be of enormous help. And finally the advice was to bring your problem to a meeting!
During the course of the following small group discussions, one lady found out that she was able to call her son in New Zealand free of charge by using Facetime, and did so on the spot! Despite the small number present the remainder of the evening was lively as people were being helped in different areas – apart from Facetime, Pages was being demonstrated too. We look forward to a busy and helpful 2018!
