John Hooper took us through Mail Steward and explained how it can copy every email with all its raw data, and also any attachments, from Apple Mail, then archive them all into a single database file. Alternatively, the emails can be stored in separate database files, each one corresponding to separate categories, such as for each year.
We were shown the various aspects of retrieving your emails and some of the features, such as deleting duplicate emails.
Searching is very fast and comprehensive, and it even searches through attachments that have text.

There are three versions costing from $24.95 to $99.95, however, you can also download free versions of each, but with an archiving limit of 15,000 emails. The free versions have alert windows to keep reminding you that you are using a free version!

The application will help you to organise large numbers of emails, but it may take quite a while doing the initial archiving procedure.
After a short break, Annie kept us amused with her use of SIRI, the meeting ended with a general chat.

There will be no meeting in December, so our next meeting will be January 28th 2015 at The Pheasant Inn Salisbury.
