Salisbury — Dec 5th 2007

Another reasonable turn out, especially as it's December. We had a much more lively question and answer session this time and so were able to devote a little more time to that. It was good to see a few "new" people asking the questions and also more people being prepared to chip in with an answer. Don't forget, it's far easier to investigate and answer a query if we have your Mac there, so, unless you have a PowerMac or Mac Pro with 22" CRT monitor, try to bring it along to show us the problem.

We had two demonstrations, the first being how to connect your Mac to your ISP using an ethernet router and then went on to how to achieve this wirelessly. It may have been getting a bit complex towards the end but a few people who were previously confident about the security of their wireless networks went home to check a few things! The second was a brief look at some of the new features of Keynote and Numbers from iWork 08 ably presented by Euan. As Euan's been kind enough to present this at a few of the meetings now, I can confidently say that Mr Wiz McGeek has convinced us all that the spreadsheet Numbers is just what you need if you really do want to deal with the little black number!
