Fareham — Apr 30th 2011

The April meeting of the Fareham group was held at the Portchester Community School, we were hosted by Alan and Matt Clemmy plus Ryan, a student at the school.
We were shown the three Mac based classrooms and some others that had PCs in them.

The Mac rooms typical contained 16 or so iMacs all connected and monitored by the lecturers iMac - all the rooms had digital projectors.

Ryan demonstrated his Rovio - which is described as a WiFi controlled mobile web cam

a device that was more likely to read about as a Darpa project for waging war than a domestic tool.

See

for more information about Darpa activities - well the ones that they are prepared to talk about.

We then moved to the conference room for a Q&A session which covered quite a range of topics plus password management which we decided was a suitable topic for a future meeting discussion.

We also discussed other topics that we would like to hear about at upcoming meetings.

Thank you to Alan and Matt for arranging for the visit to the school and showing us around.
