In spite of a major road closure to the east of the meeting only one person missed the start of the meeting at which 14 people attended.

This months focus was on Desk Top Processing.
Michael Corgan demonstrated how the page layout part of Pages could be used to create brochures, posters and books. He demonstrated the use of layers and the flexibility of the layout process.

Euan Williams then gave us an introduction to the heavy weight DTP program InDesign by Adobe. Euan introduced us to the world of slugs, bleeds, kerning, drop caps and other terms that originated when typesetting used metal type. He showed us how to start creating a document and the preferences used. We were advised to go to the Adobe TV web site for more detailed instruction

The meeting then conclude after a short open discussion.
