David M gave a presentation, made with Mick demonstrating how to share and control a screen iPad to iPad using FaceTime, showing the helper and client screens side by side. Whilst it should be possible to do the same Mac to iOS, it does not work currently.

Mick then talked about the importance of preparing for being hit by a bus and leaving someone with access to all your online data. As most of us now use a master password system like 1Password or Apple’s Passwords app, they will need your computer password, your iOS PIN number, the password to your passwords app, and your Apple ID password. With that date, they basically can pretend to be you.

Apple now offers the ability to set up a Legacy Contact. This can be set up in Settings, Apple Account, Sign In & Security. Apple provides full details on their website.

We ended with a brief discussion about the latest Apple WWDC presentation at the start of their week of developer support, well worth watching.
