O.N.N.A.*

AS Trevor Middleton was driving down from Derby to show us how we could use our Macs to track down our ancestors, at jut gone 3 I received a call from Solutions. Their security shutter had malfunctioned and had to be repaired. And that meant there would be no access to the shop or the presentation room beneath between 6 and 11.30 that night. Of course, this was a really urgent job, since without the shutter they would have no insurance.

So Lionel Ogden and I set to the melancholy task of stopping people from making the trip. Trevor had, fortunately, only got as far as Leicester. He was most understanding and has promised to come again another day. So we can look forward to getting to know who we are and also to have the benefit of his knowledge - more usually aired in the pages of MacFormat - in our Q & A session. Our apologies to anyone who we weren't able to contact - if you have been at a Bournemouth meeting during the last three or four months and we didn't get to you it means that we haven't a phone number - either landline or mobile. It would be good to have both, and so please let me know. Not that we are expecting any more problems...

Next month we shall be having a Show & Tell session, sand would like everyone to bring along any tips, useful programs or utilities or anything else that you use and find either useful or interesting. We aren't looking for a full fifteen minute Keynote presentation - just a simple description and demo will be fine. And if you don't want to bring your Mac pop the program etc. onto a thumb drive and we will provide the Mac.

And after the meeting, the cappucino! Looking forward to seeing you all on July 22nd.

Thanks for the J.I.T phone call. (J.I.T. - just in time!). Better luck next time.

Every time I go to meetings in Dorset (other than my own), either the attendance is awful or they get cancelled. Should I take the hint and keep away? ;-)
