Beaminster — Apr 4th 2017

At a well-attended meeting (18 were present) the chance of a fiasco, when Michael’s MacBook Pro refused to respond to a variety of commands, despite the attentions of Euan and Mick, Euan came to the rescue by another route, kindly lending his MacBook Pro so that Michael was able to go. ahead with his presentation on Photos, having been careful enough to bring a copy on a memory stick.

The presentation took us through the basics of the app, starting with ways of getting photos in for both the Mac and in iOs and where they could be stored (on the Mac - there is no choice in iOS), then going on to creating new collections or albums, and sharing photos by a variety of means. There was a quick look at the abilities of Photos to make changes to individual images and then ways of geotagging and exporting in other formats were shown. Finally a quick visit to the options Apple provide for making calendars, cards and phonebooks was followed by details of where to download, for a very reasonable £6 or so, the Take Control Crash Course on Photos.

After that there were Photos related questions, plus a couple of other queries, all of which were ably answered by Mick.

Another good evening.
