Bournemouth — Jul 19th 2016

On the hottest evening of the year so far, six gently perspiring members gathered to be welcomed by the staff of Solutions. Thankfully the basement door had been kept open all day so the room was still surprisingly comfortable for us to settle down and listen to Euan's talk on Masks and Masking.

After an introduction to the concept of masks in all their forms, Euan demonstrated the simple (but very useful) Instant Alpha mask in Pages before going on to use Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer to demonstrate various other ways in which masks can be used. The effects produced ranged from the useful and artistic (e.g. designing custom greetings cards) through the surprising, or at times downright bewildering, through to the impressive but arguably treasonable transformation of aspects of Poundbury.

All in all, another entertaining and whimsical talk from Euan. This talk has also been presented at Dorchester (in February) and at Salisbury (in April), so further information can be found in the notes of those meetings.

Please note that there will be no Bournemouth meeting in August.
