Salisbury — Feb 25th 2015

Number of members present 10 and 1 guest.

Opening questions, why is Yosemite installer wanting to delete contents of an external hard drive?,
Apple TV, and Sound alerts on a iPad Mini.

Mick pointed out an scam that has fooled a few people into divulging their Apple ID and Password, they have received an e-mail that says it is from Apple and that they need to re-enter their password, the site seems to actually come from Apple and is a very clever scam.

Whatever you do is not to select the link offered as it will take you to the scam site that looks exactly like the correct one, all they want is your credit card details.

If you get one of these e-mails check the source by hovering the mouse over the link and it will show where the e-mail is coming from then delete it.

For our first presentation Mick discussed iPhoto in a bit more detail, concentrating on how you can keep all your photos organised and showed a tutorial blog.
this included viewing your photographs that are in the folders, merging the contents of folders by dragging or selecting individual photos or by the particular camera you have used.

Selecting people photos and naming the person using the Faces feature, then on to creating a folder and selecting the photos for the particular folder, creating Smart folders.
Sharing you photos to Mail, iCloud, Facebook, Twitter etc. Slideshow and to a printer.

Mick then showed a movie that was created using Garage Band.

Next meeting, Wednesday 25th March 2015 at the Pheasant Inn Salisbury 7-30 - 9-30 pm
