Beaminster — Feb 4th 2014

This evening's meeting went really well. Despite the howling gale and torrential rain, 12 stalwarts turned out to listen to an excellent presentation by John Lemon on iOS, the why's and how's - why it is different from Mac OS, how iCloud functions, the benefits of synchronisation and the pitfalls of Photostream (among other areas covered). In short a clear and very understandable tour of the system that we use for our iPads and iPhones.

Michael followed on with the sad confession that he had been harbouring 96 apps on his iPhone, but had been through them and binned unwanted/useless ones and was now down to a mere 93. He went through these, briefly explaining which were the most used, introduced us to some free and very useful apps (the Good Pub Guide being among them) and showed how simple it is to either delete apps or to group them in folders.

All this, from both John and Michael, seen clearly by all thanks to our spanking new projector and screen, concrete evidence of the benefits of being part of WAMUG.
