Fareham — Feb 7th 2009

We had two very different but interesting presentations at this months meeting, kicking off the new year in style.

We had a visit from Trevor Metcalfe, who is a well known professional cartoonist. He has created cartoons for comics such as 'Whizzer & Chips' and 'The Dandy' to name but a few in his career. Trevor gave us an insight into his work and demonstrated how he utilises his Apple computer in his work flow, using both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. His online portfolio can be seen at http://www.trevortoons.com.

After a short break for coffee and doughnuts we were entertained by WAGs member Sam Adams, with an introduction to Podcasting using Garageband and iTunes which inspired many of us (including me) to have a go at creating some musical content!

Unfortunately, the Internet connection was not working at this session, due to the halls IT whizz replacing the router and not finished setting it up due to "technical problems". I've been promised that all will be working for the next meeting!

Thanks to all that attended for making the meeting so enjoyable and if you were held back by the snow, you unfortunately missed a great meeting. See you next time...

I thoroughly enjoyed the meeting. It's easy to get your podcasts that you enter on iWeb to appear on the directory on iTunes!! If you want to know that final bit let me know - [undisclosed email]. I received an email from apple saying that they are checking a request for the series on their directory (your series is probably subject to being vetted > I suppose this is a good thing). Take care everybody - see you next time.

After not being able to get along to the Fareham meetings for some time, it was great to find that it still has the same mix of good atmosphere, inspiring demo's and not forgetting the great donuts.

The Fareham venue is so good. With plenty of easy, free parking and excellent facilities. Many thanks Terry. Not forgetting, Trevor and Sam for the demo's.
