      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">I downloaded Mavericks, and updated Mail to Version 1.0 using Software Update (the version number in About .....  still shows  7.0)<xhtml:br/>
<xhtml:br/>
My problem is (and was, before updating) that if I try to attach, e.g. a jpg or pdf file, this is reduced in size to around 20 to 50 KB, so not really of much use. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?<xhtml:br/>

      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Well, of course, having posted the problem, the solution immediately appeared in the form of a pop-up menu 'image size' which I had not noticed. Selecting Actual Size cured the problem, which I think must have arisen when I sent some photos directly from iPhoto and reduced them in size.</xhtml:div>
