I also have a few devices (mainly aeromodelling-related) which need a Windows PC to do firmware updates from time to time. My XP laptop is a bit long in the tooth so maybe I should be looking to create a Windows partition on the new drive too. Any pointers on choosing a hard drive? E.g. Bus powered or power brick, 3.5in or 2.5in? Manufacturers to avoid? Also any ideas on how best to set up a Windows partition - Emulators or Boot Camp or whatever? It might be coincidence, but every failure we've experienced has been with Segate drives. Now, dare I say it, as yet, I've never had a Lacie drive fail on me.
