      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">My MacBook battery seems to be running down quickly when used online. Is this normal or do batteries deteriorate with age? It is a model 1.1, Intel Core Duo, 1.8 GHz.  Must be about six years old but low usage.</xhtml:div>

      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">you can try this, run it all the way down to nothing. shut down and remove it. leave your mac for a while (overnight is good) then put the battery in, plug in  and leave it to charge fully before you use it. like a few hours. this can reset the battery conditioning and management circuits, and give your battery a boost. but six years is almost a world record.!!</xhtml:div>
