In the network settings the Wi-Fi is turned ON and I have a good signal strength as indicated by the 'bar' symbol. However if I select the right hand arrow on the network to confirm the settings there is no information in any of the boxes, i.e. no ip address, no subnet mask, no router and no DNS numbers. I have reset the iPod 4times today and checked the MAC address in the router - all normal. My question is this. Why do I get the symbol showing I am connected yet I cannot gain access to the Internet? If that doesn't work, use Forget This Network and then set it up again by entering the network name and password. However what I do have now is an ip address which is not my provider's address. It is 169.254.122.220 and the subnet mask is 255.255.0.0 again this is not the same as my settings when I access my network settings on the iMac!
