My daughter wishes to transfer all her contacts from her PC to the iPad 2 to save typing them all in manually.<xhtml:br/>
They have been told that the only way is to 'stream' them via iCloud, but since they do not have iCloud I wondered if there was an alternative way, possibly via an app. Could anyone help me please?<xhtml:br/>

Plug iPad into Mac which should launch iTunes (Or, with iOS5 and Snow Leopard, you can just launch iTunes and it will find the iPad over WiFi)<xhtml:br/>

Then, in iTunes<xhtml:br/>

Have your daughter create an account on one of your macs, and synch the ipad with that account. then on the PC, export all the contacts as a Vcard or some format that the mac understands, and move, copy, or otherwise get the PC addresses file to her account. import them into contacts, and sync away. this may sound long winded, but if you have a lot of contact data, it beats re-typing.</xhtml:div>
