You can (I'm reliably informed) go into Terminal and weave some Unix magic to reset the times of when the mac does these housekeeping activities. (Chrontab, apparently, for the technically minded). Much too complicated for me, though.I have found a wonderful, FREE application called OnyX, which can be found here: (http://www.titanium.free.fr/index_us.html) It is now one of my 'can't live without' apps and I use it to accomplish all manner of cleaning and maintenance on my system on a weekly basis. It is not the only program out there that does this, but I like the interface. Others are Macjanitor, Cocktail, etc.. all do similar jobs. Try some out - you may like them. And they do keep those temporary files accumulating to disc-clogging proportions.</xhtml:div>
