      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">I have read that Bonjour allows computers to talk to each other.  I can't make it work although I have turned on file sharing which says that others computers on the network can communicate.  I can't see any instructions on actually making it work (The Apple site just says what a wonderful thing it is)<xhtml:br/>

So please, what steps do I have to go through to get my laptop (new Macbook) to talk to my iMac G5 and vice versa)<xhtml:br/>
(both running OSX 4.10)<xhtml:br/>

1. start both Macs<xhtml:br/>
2. link with preferably Firewire, but can use ethernet<xhtml:br/>
3. go to file sharing preference pane on both macs and enable file sharing<xhtml:br/>
4. Look for the sentence: "Computers on your local network can access your computer at: GrahamNews-Macbook.local" or similar.<xhtml:br/>
5. your Mac will look for the other one and ask for user name and password. Enter this for that other Mac, ie. the one you are connecting TO!<xhtml:br/>
6. The other Mac will appear on your desktop.</xhtml:div>

      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Only got so far I'm afraid.  I can get to the box 'Registered User 'which asks for user name and password but reject all attempts.<xhtml:br/>
In the Guest Box I can get to a 'Drop Box' but I can't open that as I do not have the necessary permissions.<xhtml:br/>

Where am I going wrong? How do  become a Reistered User?<xhtml:br/>
