      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">I'm using iphoto 8 I noticed that rather a lot of duplicates have suddenly appeared after years of behaving perfectly. Does anyone know how I can eradicate them within iphoto as simply as possible. <xhtml:br/>

      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">As you know iPhoto has a complex file structure to which we can add great confusion. It will store the original photo, the "photo" file (?s) that records all the editing you may have done, plus thumbnail images with aliases.<xhtml:br/>
<xhtml:br/>
Make sure you have backed up your "pictures" folder before you do any clearing out, and be very careful to choose only the files you want to remove (use "Get Info" (cmnd-i) to check.<xhtml:br/>
