Are you using Snow Leopard or Leopard? Since Jaguar, Apple have increasingly used CUPS (Common Unix Printing System) which has many advantages (including sandboxing for security). Snow Leopard is supposed to download drivers automatically for printers when required, though I haven't tried this... Try the Epson website for their latest drivers and see how you get on. Before installing the last update everything was working alright. But since the update no printing. Soon after switching to a new Mac Mini our RX640 appeared to die. I chatted via the Epson website to a technician who assured me that it would need expensive repairs. As a last throw of the dice I left it disconnected from both the Mac and the power supply for 24 hours before waking it up.
