Announced this week: Light Peak was shown running on a Mac Pro motherboard and OSX. This is a "unified" single cable interface which may in part replace USB3 and Firewire flavours. Some say it might even surface in an Apple late 2010...<xhtml:br/>

      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Now look here Euan, our Snow Leopard upgrade is already on hold pending replacement of our venerable G4 iMac; The iMac purchase is on hold on the basis that there should be a new model out sometime soon; And it seems a shame to buy one with iLife 09 this late in the year. If I now have to wait for a whole new I/O standard. . . . .<xhtml:br/>
