      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Users with "heritage" fonts may experience unexpected results with older font formats (utilites exist to change the format while preserving font metrics -- more or less).<xhtml:br/>
<xhtml:br/>
Corrupt fonts can cause crashes, and other weird happenings; Currently the font "Menlo" is known to cause Photoshop to crash.<xhtml:br/>
<xhtml:br/>
If you are having odd and persistent experiences which seem untraceable it is well worth cleaning your font caches. The free Onyx (for Leopard) does this and Cocktail too. If you are upgrading to Snow Leopard wait for Onyx 2.1.x. <xhtml:br/>
<xhtml:br/>
Users of Linotype's &gt; Font Explorer X v1.2.3 &lt; (free, from VersionTracker and warmly recommended) will find tools to do all this under the Tools menu. (Not sure if FE-X is stable under Snow Leopard.)<xhtml:br/>
