      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">I'd narrowed it down in my mind to a security problem, and was mucking about with iCab, Safari and Firefox, looking at my preferences, changing a few here and there, and then trying to get back to this site without being asked to sign in. I have succeeded with all three. It was my cookie settings that were the trouble. I've always thought that they were generally undesirable because they took up space on the hard drive which was unwarranted. I now realize that they are probably what enables a site to recognize me. Mind you, I still think they take up space, so is there a way to retain the cookies for my bookmarked sites whilst dumping the rest when I quit the browser? </xhtml:div>
