      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Is it possible to edit the list of email addresses which drop down when you enter a character in the address field of a new message in Mail.   Various people I email from time to time have changed their email provider and because the dropdown list still holds their old addresses I sometimes choose the wrong one and the email bounces back.  I have tried editing the recipients list but that has no effect on the dropdown list.</xhtml:div>

      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">I would have given the answer that Doug has but added that you need to change the entry in the Contacts app too - Mail looks in both places to populate the drop down list.</xhtml:div>

      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Thanks to both Doug and Mick. I had tried altering the previous recipients list but I had not thought to check the contacts also.  Now I have done this the drop down list just gives me the currently correct email address for this particular person.</xhtml:div>
