      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">I'm looking for an offline English dictionary app. I can see that pages seems to have a 'define' function, but that is a bit of a faff to use on the go. Can anyone suggest a cheap add free app?<xhtml:br/>

      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">You should already have the OED built-in. Type your word into Spotlight (drag downwards in the centre of the Home screen, for example) and the OED definition should be in the search results. Tap on it to see the full entry.<xhtml:br/>

You may need to set the dictionary first (I can't remember): look at Settings&gt;General&gt;Dictionary to select the appropriate one(s).</xhtml:div>

      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Thanks, Tony. That certainly fits the bill. I had not realised that you could invoke a search by dragging downwards in the centre of the Home screen.</xhtml:div>
