      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">I've forgotten them all, and cocked it up somehow, so I need a fresh start ...  So when a chap buys a new (refurbished) Mac what should he do? <xhtml:br/>
I have an old Mini running Mountain Lion, and a new Mini running El Capitan. As the new Mini will  not run the software versions I prefer, (Aperture, iMovie HD, Affinity Designer, Pages, and something else I forget), I bought a refurbished 27" iMac mid 2010 with 3TB hard drive and 32 GB of memory, running Mountain Lion.</xhtml:div>

Ensure that the new Mac's OS X etc is up to date, then use Migration Assistant to copy your apps and files?</xhtml:div>
