      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">All of a sudden I have found that I can't open disc images any more. I double click or right click them but nothing happens. Has anyone any ideas as to what might be wrong</xhtml:div>

      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">I couldn't open any download that was a disc image it just hi lighted and did nothing. I restarted in safe mode and the restarted again and all seems to be working now</xhtml:div>

      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">If a file that should open won't open, it's always worth checking its settings (these things get mysteriously changed sometimes, never by absent minded users of course!)<xhtml:br/>

Select the file in the Finder, then 'Get Info' (File menu or Command-I). Last item but one is 'Open with' that tells you what application is set to open that particular file (and, usually, any file of that type). For a disk image (.dmg), look for DiskImageMounter (who would have guessed  :-)  ).</xhtml:div>
