The Apple Store scrum and procedures there mid afternoon today ensured that it took me just over15 minutes to purchase a keyboard (USB/Numeric variety). Suitably irate I did a dummy run to see how long it would take at John Lewis – answer 5 minutes max. Also John Lewis would have given me a hard copy receipt, whereas Apple expects to send an e-mailed receipt. They had a curious inability to accept payment. I haven't been back. I walk in pick up the thing I want to buy, scan it, buy it using the app and just walk out expecting someone to stop me... They haven't yet! I was thinking of that additional year of guarantee of course, but it was certainly convenient. (A mere three quid for delivery). I realised that Toast was telling me something in naming the drive it intended to use, which was the duff one! I clicked on that and got the option of using the new drive. Which is superb.
