<xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Given the continuing number of security holes in Flash, I think it's been long time overdue to get it out of my browser (Safari).<xhtml:br/>
<xhtml:br/>
However, BBC iPlayer will not run any more without it, but there is a simple workaround in Safari.<xhtml:br/>
<xhtml:br/>
1. Enable the Develop menu in the menu bar by going to Safari Preferences->Advanced.<xhtml:br/>
2. Open a new Tab and go to Develop->User Agent->Safari iOS8.1-iPad<xhtml:br/>
3. (Re)load BBC website.<xhtml:br/>
<xhtml:br/>
Just that browser tab will now work like it was an iPad Safari browser and you'll be able to watch iPlayer.<xhtml:br/>
<xhtml:br/>
Other benefits, no more time wasting Flash games _and_ sometimes simpler adverts appearing (instead of Flash based ads), best though no more need to update Flash every other day!<xhtml:br/>
<xhtml:br/>
Disadvantages: Sometimes web pages work like it was for an iPad, but that's easy to sort out, open another tab and reload the web page you were trying to read.</xhtml:div>
