What I do in Pages 4 is insert a table and then adjust it using the inspector, or if its only one column you want you could insert a text box and adjust that.</xhtml:div>

      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Hi, columns are found in Format, Text, then under Body select Style then select Layout (the centre one), Columns will be found here just change the number of columns.<xhtml:br/>
