I bought a keyboard on eBay as some of the letters on this one don't work. The new one, which is the same model as the old one, (Apple A1243), doesn't work. Do I have to order the Mac to recognise it?

Secondly, as if I didn't have trouble enough, my email provider Yahoo has been dumbed down beyond my endurance; can you recommend another one, which I shall be able to access via Mail?

I haven't checked from the model number but if the keyboard is wired then it should just work. If it's bluetooth (wireless) then it would need to be paired.

With regard to email, you could try Gmail from Google - they offer both POP and IMAP
