Do I need 2 accounts, one each for the iTunes Store and App Store?

I have never had the need to download music from the iTunes Store but have an Apple ID and have opened an account with a Credit Card for downloading Apps from the App Store. Are the iTunes Store and App Store separately managed?

While trying to publish a booklet I have had a message asking me to sign into iTunes Connect but it says I do not have an account with the iTunes Store. I think it is saying that in order to use iTunes Connect I have to have an iTunes account.

You should be able to sign in to iTunes using your existing Apple ID.

Thanks Mike. You're right of course. One ID to rule them all... The problem was that to sign into iTunes Connect in order to publish a book, an iTunes account with an associated credit card is required. A PayPal account which is what I have, cannot be used.

I thought it was denying me access because I had no iTunes account or that the account was not associated with any form of payment. Changing the form of payment to a credit card has allowed me to open an iTunes Connect account.
