Dorchester — May 12th 2009

John opened the meeting, which was attended by 14 members.

Lionel gave a lively presentation on iTunes, which was a helpful introduction to the newcomer, and a welcome reminder to the more experienced, of the various facilities which were available to users of this established Macintosh favourite. We covered the videos and podcasts available through the iTunes shop, the Visualiser, playlists, and smart playlists, how to use iTunes tracks with iPhoto and iMovie presentations, and how to use Applescripts from dougscripts.com to add additional versatility. There was also mention of sites such as spotify.com for free streaming audio.

After an interval, the Q&A session covered topics including; taking screenshots of open windows; preserving laptop battery life; the ins and outs of Plug-ins; transferring data from old Macs, and using Onyx to maintain the health of the OSX system.
