Salisbury — Apr 26th 2016

Salisbury meeting, 26th April

12 members present

Mick stared off with a presentation showing how easy it it to put Custom ringtone on your mobile phone, using Garage Band to edit a short piece of music to fit by removing the lead in so that it started at the correct point, then saving it as MP3 ready to import it into your mobile phone.

Following Mick, Euan showed us Affinity Photo a vector based application (similar to Illustrator or PhotoShop but not so costly) concentrating on its masking feature he masked off an area of a photo, then showing how to trim off the parts not needed and clearing parts of the background and the use of layers, David came in at this point to show the trimming of a picture can also be done in Pages.

Euan then showed how to enter text and convert this onto vectored lettering and filling the letters with colours and parts of an image that he uses to create a birthday card and how you can add parts of a photo that are missing by demonstrating the
vector graphics part of this program.

He finished off with how to remove parts of a letter so that is fitted in the first photo he showed us to complete the scene.

In all two very interesting presentations on how to make your personalised ringtone and how to use the Affinity Photo that is part of a suite of applications Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer all costing £39.00 each from the App.

Next meeting Tuesday 31st May 2016 at Tesco Extra Store Southampton Road Salisbury in the community Space 19:30 - 21:30
