Fareham — May 23rd 2015

There was another good turnout of 15 members plus one newcomer.

The first half of the meeting was for the benefit of the iPad users in this group, which now includes several beginners.
John demonstrated a selection of things to do on an iPad, some basic and some hidden, in various categories.
Also, he included some tips to speed up using the inbuilt software keyboard.

After the break, Mick gave a presentation for the Mac users about Mail.
Initially, he explained the differences between POP and IMAP email accounts by using graphic illustrations, then he demonstrated how to add a mail account.
Next, he discussed how to deal with Spam, followed by how to organise emails using Rules and Smart Mailboxes.
Then how to paste in several saved paragraphs using Signatures, and then a brief guide on troubleshooting email problems.
Finally, he warned against inadvertently giving away personal details on forms which appeared from links inside Phishing emails.

The next meeting will be on Saturday 20th June at 10.30am.
