This meeting’s theme, Utilities, where they are, what do they do, the ones you can alter and those you should not touch., John, Mick and Brian participated in the explanations with lots of questions and feedback
There was also some discussion on movies in ‘Aperture’.

The Utilities disscussed were

Grapher, Have a play with rather beautiful 3D shapes using mathematical formulae
Font Book, See what the font on the system look like
Airport Utility, Will search for Wi-Fi add ons such as Apple TV
Migration Assistant, Transfer files from other Mac or PC
Terminal, Entering commands that you have entered as long as you know to do it
Keychain, Look for Passwords etc
System Profiler, Provides all the information about your computer
Automator, Looks at applications on the Mac and how memory is being used
Disk Utility, This utility can fix almost any disk problems and used to format disks
Digital Colour Meter, Use the eye dropper to select a colour on the display also shows colour value
Colour Sync Utility, Image editing
Grab, Used to create screen shots of sections of the screen
Audio Midi Setup, Getting sound from a keyboard and allows adjustments to the sound quality
