There was a good attendance this month which I suspect was because of the discussion about Mountain Lion. About one third of us had already installed this and were able to offer comments and suggestions as Doug went through the presentation he had prepared. This gave us a very good idea of what the new operating system was like. Those of us who had yet to install it and indeed some of us who already had were discovering new features every few minutes! Personally, I'm very pleased to see the return of the monthly calendars beside your view of choice in iCal and also the much missed Save As option.

As this was such a lively and involved discussion we suddenly realised that it was 9:30 and John was patiently waiting in the wings to give us his presentation on keyboard shortcuts. Having explained a bewildering number of these (and helpfully prepared a handout knowing that we'd never remember them all!) he went on to tell us that he'd only scratched the surface and that Apple list 260 for Pages alone.

I find it vaguely irritating to find that facilities such as the Save as option which were lost in Lion are now available again in Mountain Lion, to which I cannot upgrade because my computers are too old.
