Salisbury — Oct 27th 2010

This month's meeting was quite a lively affair. There were several queries raised in the general Q&A session with lengthy discussions meandering around wi-fi hotspots on a Touch and Nikon RAW format files. Shorter questions followed but it did mean we'd been going all but an hour before the presentation.

The presentation was how to set up a router and wireless network as recently given at other meetings. Discussion during this was pretty lively too ranging from one member who as a security measure has named his wireless network Wiltshire Constabulary! At least, everyone should now be using the best encryption available to them.

To finish off, Gordon showed us his iPad - the first time some of us had seen one in the flesh - and moved on to showing us an application he'd written for it. Doug was so impressed he logged on and bought a copy straight away, apparently to amuse his grandchildren but I'm not so sure!
